Catch “Wonder of the World” This Thursday

rivers-edgePerformance art is one of those things that you should definitely try and see at least once in your life. There is something quite incredible about watching people bring stories to life, whether it’s a fantastical tale being told or if it’s a depiction of the experiences many of us have been through in our lives.

The Wright Opera House is bringing one of these experiences to Ouray with the debut of “Wonder of the World”, a play written by David Lindsay-Abaire. The play tells the story of a woman named Cass whose life is turned upside down when she discovers a hilariously questionable secret regarding her husband. To cope, Cass decides to pack her bags and head to Niagara Falls to discover what the meaning of life is and also find some enlightenment and freedom in the process. During her adventure, she’s going to come across a colorful cast of characters including a tour boat captain dealing with loneliness, a pair of private detectives that can’t seem to get along, and even a clown therapist.

“Wonder of the World” opens this Thursday at 7:30 pm, with the final performance being on Saturday, August 25th. Tickets cost $18 in advance or $20 at the door. The show is rated PG-13 so parents should be aware there may be elements that are inappropriate for the little ones to see.
