With a little over a month remaining before the start of the winter season, it’s never too early to start making plans for the season. For those of you that are planning on spending the season in The Centennial State, the longtime Colorado newspaper The Gazette recently published a news article featuring “7 things to see and do” during the winter and Ouray, Colorado happened to be among them.
The major highlight in Ouray, Colorado is Ouray Ice Fest which begins on January 24 through the 27. Though it is often mistaken as being aimed at ice climbers, even people who don’t consider themselves ice climbers can enjoy themselves at the Ouray Ice Park. From watching others take on the frozen sheets of ice to the activities for children and the various clinics, the Ice Fest is a great opportunity to have some winter fun.
Also briefly name-checked in the article is the ice skating and sledding, as well as the Ouray Hot Springs, a longtime favorite which was completely remodeled and updated.
