The Ouray Ice Park remains a major highlight of Ouray and provides a fun experience for people of all ages. The park recently celebrated its annual Ouray Ice Festival which was free to attend, just like it has been in previous years.
Despite its popularity, Ouray Ice Park once found itself in a situation where its future was in question. The issue dealt largely with how much control Ouray should have over the park’s numerous routes which have been overseen by volunteers for over two decades and counting. After much negotiations, a new plan was worked out that will be rolled out within the next five years, ensuring Ouray Ice Park and its many challenges will remain free for everyone.
If you have yet to check out the Ouray Ice Park, don’t miss the opportunity to check out all of the excitement before it closes. The park has ice climbs for people of all skill levels and it makes for a memorable experience.
