Independence Day is right around the corner, and Ouray is ramping up its Fourth of July celebrations early. A host of events including plenty of traditions that have been celebrated since the early 1900s will once again return this year.
The festivities begin on Saturday, July 1st at the Ouray County Historical Society. For history buffs looking to enrich themselves with Ouray’s many classic sights, the Historical Home Tour kicking off at 1:00 pm will explore five architectural gems. Tickets for the tour cost $25. Later during the evening, enjoy the thought provoking reggae stylings of Taj Weeks & Adowa at the Wright Opera House beginning at 7:00 pm.
On Sunday, July 2nd, return to the Wright Opera House with the entire family to enjoy the Peter Davidson Vaudeville Family Show. Dancers, jugglers, and mime Peter Davidson himself will perform twice.
Fellin Park will host the Ouray Volunteer Fire Department Fourth-of-July Kickoff Concert on Monday, July 3rd. Bring your family, friends, even the pooch to celebrate the arrival of Independence Day while you enjoy great food, beer, drinks, and more.
On the Fourth of July, a number of events will take place including the Fourth of July Main Street Parade and the Jeep “Glow” Parade. For more information, visit the Fourth of July celebration on the official Ouray website.
