A significant portion of Ouray is tied to the Ute tribe and its Native American chief whom Ouray is named after. Chief Ouray erected one his homes near Weisbaden Hot Springs, developing an appreciation for the supposed healing qualities of its waters. Today, Wiesbaden holds a status as a tourist attraction.
Countless numbers of families visit the Weisbaden Hot Springs, which continues to honor the history of its former owners, the Ute people. A strong focus has been placed on keeping the hot springs as natural as possible. In fact, visitors are not allowed to enter the hot springs with any sort of makeup, hair products, or other lotions on their skin. Those that have used tobacco during the last month are also not allowed to enter the hot springs.
The ambiance of Weisbaden Hot Springs is further enhanced by the scenery, which includes the regal San Juan Mountains as a backdrop. There is also a clothing-optional pool called the Lorelei which offers a more intimate setting for a separate fee.
If you’re looking for something else beyond the Ouray Hot Springs, Weisbaden Hot Springs is definitely worth paying a visit to.
