Have you ever thought about taking up acting? Even if you have no aspirations of seeing your name in lights and becoming a much-discussed celebrity, acting classes are a great way to build confidence and improve public speaking skills. Improv is known for requiring quick thinking where scenes are brought to life during that very moment, completely unscripted.
If any of this sounds at all appealing, the Wright Opera House is the place to be on Thursday, March 7th. That’s when Terry Kieser will be teaching a Beyond Acting class that includes learning various techniques including scene study and cold reading. The former involves the analyzation of a scene to determine how to make the script pop, improving attention to detail. The latter is an actor’s ability to take a script that’s entirely new to them and bring the words on it to life in a way that’s meaningful. All of these and more are skills that you can learn during Terry Kieser’s class.
Visit the Wright Opera House website to sign up for the acting course. The cost is $175.
