Happy July! If you’re still on the fence about what to do for the Fourth of July, Ouray is unquestionably a wonderful place to celebrate the joyous national holiday. The Old-Fashioned Fourth of July in Ouray celebration is brimming with tons of activities the whole family can enjoy tomorrow. Let’s take a look at what’s in store.
The celebrations are kicking off at the crack of dawn with a 6:30 am pancake breakfast being hosted by the Ouray Mountain Rescue Team at the Ouray Community Center. After you’ve consumed enough calories to burn, the annual OURAYCE is kicking off at 8:00 am at City Hall. If you have the courage, expect to reach up to 8,000 feet of elevation during the race.
Once you’ve recovered from the race, stay for the Ouray Fourth of July Main Street Parade beginning at 10:00 am. Several distinct events will kick off one hour later at 11:00 am including games for the little ones at Fellin Park, the Elks Club BBQ, Fourth of July Karaoke, plus lawn games and ice cold lemonade at the Ouray County Historical Museum. If the temperatures get toasty, head over to the Ouray Volunteer Fire Department at 2:00 pm for a fun water fight.
A variety of Jeep vehicles will illuminate the night during the Jeep “Glow” Parade before the fun-packed day ends on a high note with a sure to be impressive fireworks show.
